Bali with children is a car plan. There is no official city metro child fare to quote, and the Indonesia Travel pages opened for this guide do not publish one. Budget the road time between Kuta, Ubud and Denpasar before you stack two paid gates.

This Bali shortlist is three operator days: Waterbom in Kuta, the monkey forest in Ubud, and Trans Studio when the rain comes. Pages were opened on 14 October 2026. A "from IDR 300,000" Waterbom line on Indonesia Travel disagreed with the park ticket page, so it is left out.

Waterbom as the Kuta day

Waterbom's ticket page is the figure to use: IDR 495,000 for a child aged 2 to 11, IDR 630,000 for an adult, and IDR 2,200,000 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children in that child band. The park sits on Jalan Kartika Plaza in Kuta. General info repeats 9:00 to 18:00 every day except Nyepi, the Day of Silence. Children under 11 must come with an adult. No outside food or drinks. Same-day re-entry is allowed if you keep the pass.

That is the whole day. Shade and water are the point. Do not add Ubud in the same car afterwards.

Indonesia Travel also lists Waterbom at 09:00 to 18:00 WITA and calls it a 3.8-hectare park. Hours match the operator. The starting price on that list does not. Use the operator number.

Ubud: the forest, not a rice-terrace marathon

Sacred Monkey Forest opens 9:00 to 18:00, last entrance 17:00. Adult IDR 130,000. Child IDR 100,000. The page does not print the child age cutoff. Ask at the booth. It states around 1,030 monkeys, 186 tree species and 12.5 hectares.

Keep food in a bag. The monkeys will take what they can reach. This is a walk of an hour or two, not a safari. Pair it with a sit-down in Ubud, then go back to wherever you are sleeping. A second temple circuit on the same afternoon is how someone gets bitten and tired.

Indonesia Travel's family list also names Bali Safari and Marine Park at 09:00 to 17:00 WITA and Bali Bird Park at 09:00 to 17:30 WITA. Those hours are usable. The "starting from" entrance fees on that list were not checked against those operators, so they are not printed here.

Rain: Trans Studio in Denpasar

Trans Studio Bali is the indoor park: more than 16 rides and 3 live shows, first floor of Trans Studio Mall Bali on Jalan Imam Bonjol in Denpasar Barat. The FAQ is the clock: Monday to Friday 11:00 to 18:00 WITA, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 to 19:00 WITA. Child tickets are ages 1 to 7. Adult tickets are over 7. A nursery room is inside. Children over 13 may enter without a companion if they show ID. Height rules apply per ride.

The homepage printed "everyday 11:00 to 18:00", which disagrees with the weekend 19:00 close on the FAQ. This page uses the FAQ split. Regular rupiah amounts were not on those two pages, so a child price is not invented.

Nyepi closes Waterbom and much of the island. If your dates include that day, stay in. Do not plan a park.

JMA climate normals for Denpasar / Ngurah Rai put January at 27.9°C and 350.7 mm of rain, and August at 26.3°C and 36.4 mm. Wet months are a Trans Studio argument, not a reason to skip the island.

A first Bali stay that works: one Waterbom day if you have a 2-to-11-year-old, one Ubud forest morning, one indoor park if the rain sets in. That is enough. The family that adds a dolphin boat, a swing and a sunset beach club on the same trip has a transfer week. If you want a city with a published child metro rule instead, read Singapore with kids.

How the island actually moves

Kuta to Ubud is not a 20-minute hop. Indonesia Travel's own family list puts Lovina two hours from Denpasar and Kebun Raya Bali about 90 minutes from the airport. Those distances are why this shortlist is three separate days, not a circuit. A driver who knows the roads is the transit system. There is no BTS equivalent to quote.

Nyepi dates change each year. Waterbom states it is closed that day. Other operators usually follow. If your flights overlap Nyepi, stay in and do not plan a transfer. Confirm the date on an official calendar before you book the park.

The Monkey Forest child ticket has no published age cutoff on the visit page. A teenager may be charged as an adult. A toddler may still pay 100,000 rupiah. Ask. Do not shout at the booth with a blog screenshot.

Trans Studio's nursery room is the reason the indoor park works with a one-year-old. Height minima still apply. A child who is 1 to 7 pays the child rate. Over 7 pays adult. The FAQ did not print the rupiah amounts, so compare the live ticket page on the morning you go rather than a number from a reseller.

Questions

Is Waterbom Bali open every day?

Every day 09:00 to 18:00 except Nyepi, the Day of Silence. Children under 11 need an adult. Same-day re-entry is allowed. No outside food.

What is the child age for the Monkey Forest ticket?

The official visit page lists IDR 100,000 for a child and IDR 130,000 for an adult. It does not define the age band. Ask at the booth rather than guessing.

Is there a child metro fare in Bali?

No official urban metro or city-bus child fare was published on the Indonesia Travel or operator pages opened for this guide. Budget a car or a driver, not a stored-value card.

Keep planning
