Bali trip cost

Bali trip cost from India for a family

The Bali trip cost for a family is the sum of nine lines you can price yourself, and the only fixed figure on an official Bali page is the tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per foreign tourist. This guide gives the levy rules, the entry steps the Indonesian authorities state, a budget sheet with a formula for every line and a blank cell for your own number, and a list of what we could not confirm.

Sourced 26 October 2026. We read each official page linked below on 26 October 2026. Figures are in Indonesian rupiah (IDR) exactly as the pages give them, and we do not convert them to Indian rupees, because we have no dated official exchange rate to cite. Fees change, so confirm before you pay.

Looking for what to do once you are there? Read the Bali guide. This page is about the money. Checking entry rules for other countries? Use the visa-free finder for Indian passport holders. To add up the whole trip, use the family trip budget calculator.

The Bali tourist levy

The official Love Bali site, run for the Bali Provincial Government, shows the tourist levy as IDR 150,000 on its payment page, and its FAQ says foreign tourists pay Rp 150,000 per person. The same FAQ lists the rules.

  • Once per trip. The FAQ says the levy is paid one time while travelling in Bali, before the person leaves Indonesia.
  • Cashless only. Pay on the Love Bali site before you enter Bali, at a payment counter at the airport or port in Bali, or at a registered endpoint such as a hotel, travel agent or tourist attraction.
  • Proof of payment. A levy voucher with a QR code is sent to the email you enter.
  • Payment methods. The FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB credit cards, bank transfer, Virtual Account, UnionPay and QRIS.
  • Currency and charges. The payment page can show the amount in other currencies, and its list includes INR. It says the fixed exchange rate displayed on the payment page is the one applied, and that additional charges may apply, depending on the issuing bank.

Children, and who is exempt from the levy

The FAQ says every international tourist who travels to Bali and does tourist activities should pay. It gives no age exemption and no child rate, and the payment page does not mention children, so we state no child rule. Confirm on the payment form how it treats each traveller before you pay for a family.

The FAQ lists these exemptions: holders of diplomatic and official visas, crew members on transportation vehicles, holders of a KITAS or KITAP stay permit card, holders of family unification visas, holders of student visas, holders of golden visas and holders of other visas. It says the golden visa and other visa holders need to apply through the Love Bali system, and the rest only show their card to the officer.

Entry: the e-VOA and the arrival card

The Directorate General of Immigration FAQ lists India among the countries on its Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) list. It says an e-VOA application needs an original passport valid for at least six months and a return or onward ticket. The official e-visa site says an e-VOA application can be made for 5 people at the same time.

On the fee, the Directorate General of Immigration's published fee schedule lists a visit stay permit valid for up to 30 days at IDR 500,000 per application (shown as Rp 500.000,- on the page). The page does not say which entries are the e-VOA, and it does not say whether a family application is charged once or per person, so we do not call it the e-VOA fee. Read the amount on the application screen before you pay.

The e-visa site also says every traveller must submit an arrival card within 3 days before arriving in Indonesia, and links to the All Indonesia site for it. We could not read the All Indonesia page itself, which loaded without text, so we say nothing more about the card. Our visa-free finder lists what the Ministry of External Affairs table says about the e-VOA stay.

Bali trip cost from India: the budget sheet

Fill in your own figure on each line, then add the lines. We give no totals and no ranges, because we found no official page with flight, hotel or food prices.

LineFormulaYour figure
FlightsFlight price per person x number of travellers, from the airline's own booking page on the day______
VisaThe amount shown on the application screen, x the number of times it is charged for your group______
Tourist levyIDR 150,000 x the number of travellers the levy form charges. The pages state no child rule______
StayPrice per night x number of nights______
FoodFood per day x number of days______
Local transportYour own estimate for the whole stay______
ActivitiesAdult ticket x adults, plus child ticket x children, for each activity you pick______
Travel insurancePolicy price per person x number of travellers______
Forex chargesCard or exchange charges, as your bank or exchange states them. The levy page warns of issuing bank charges______
TotalAdd every line above______

Keep every line in the same currency. If you price some lines in rupiah and some in Indian rupees, convert with the rate your bank or card gives you on the day, and note the date. The levy is the one figure you can fill in now: IDR 150,000 for each person the form charges.

How to price each line

  • Flights. We state no route and no fare. We could not confirm a Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru to Denpasar route on an airline's own page on 26 October 2026, so check the airline sites for current routes.
  • Stay. Price it on the booking page of the property you pick. A kitchen or an apartment can change the food line, so decide that first.
  • Activities. Take the ticket price from each attraction's own site when you book. We state none. For ticketed activities with children, such as Waterbom in Kuta or the Ubud monkey forest, see the Bali guide.
  • Insurance and forex. Both come from your own provider. Use the same date for every conversion.

Places we could not confirm

We could not confirm these on an official page on 26 October 2026, so we say nothing about them: flight routes and fares from any Indian city, the e-VOA fee as a labelled figure, the e-VOA child rule, whether the e-VOA can be extended, the arrival card's cost, its customs section and its QR code, how the levy form treats children, how far ahead an exemption must be applied for, hotel, food and transport prices, attraction prices, and any rupee equivalent of a rupiah price.

What we left out

We left out totals and ranges, rupee conversions, a hotel or flight recommendation, and any fee, fare or price that an official page we read does not state.
