All-inclusive family resorts: kids club ages compared

An all-inclusive suits a family when the kids club takes your child's age and the features you want are on the resort's own page. Those are facts printed on each resort's site, and they differ more than the photos suggest. This guide gives you the checklist first, then a table of what 13 resorts publish.

Updated 20 October 2026. We read each resort page linked below on 20 October 2026. This is not a ranking and no resort paid to be here. We left out room rates because they change daily, and we left out any resort whose official page did not state that it is all-inclusive. Ages and offers change, so confirm them with the resort before you book.

Is an all-inclusive right for your family?

It tends to fit when you want fixed costs, little planning and children who like a pool and a club. It tends to fit less well when you want to eat in town, drive between sights or keep a strict nap schedule that a busy resort day will not respect. A baby or a toddler changes the question most: look at what the resort offers under age four before anything else.

To see what the whole trip adds up to once flights and extras are in, try the family trip budget calculator.

What to check before you book

  • Kids club ages. Find the youngest age the club takes and whether a parent must stay. Some clubs start at four months, others at four years.
  • Hours. Ask when the club opens, closes and breaks, and whether that matches your child's nap or dinner.
  • What is included. Check whether the club, childcare, strollers and excursions are in the price or charged separately.
  • Room layout. Ask how many people the room sleeps, where a cot goes and whether there is a door between the sleeping area and the rest.
  • Food for fussy eaters. Ask what is on offer at the buffet and whether a kitchen will make plain food at any hour.
  • Water safety. Ask how the pools and beach are supervised, and what depth the children's pool is.
  • Flight time. A long flight and a time-zone shift come before the first club session. Use the kids jet lag calculator.

Every figure here comes from the linked resort page, as read on 20 October 2026. Age ranges are quoted as the page states them. Several pages give different splits in different places, so confirm the band for your child with the resort.

Notes on the table

The Club Med pages list the club names and the age bands separately, so a page does not say which club covers which band. Club Med Bali, La Pointe aux Canonniers and La Caravelle give different age splits in different parts of the same page. The Club Med under-4s-stay-free offers are marked with an asterisk and the terms were not shown on the pages we read, so ask Club Med for them in writing.

What the published ages mean by age group

  • Babies under 2. Club Med Cancún and La Caravelle publish a Baby Club from 4 months. Club Med Phuket, Kani, Bali, Mauritius and Da Balaia list a Baby Club Med band of 0 to 2. Grand Palladium Jamaica lists a Baby Club for 1 to 3. Hard Rock lets under-fours in with an adult. The Royalton and Barceló clubs start at 4.
  • Toddlers 2 to 4. Club Med lists a Petit Club for ages 2 and 3. Grand Palladium's Baby Club runs to 3. Grecotel says under 3s can attend with a parent.
  • School age, 5 to 12. Every club in the table covers some or all of this range, with the top age between 10 and 13 depending on the resort.
  • Teens. Club Med (11 to 17), Grecotel (13 to 17), Royalton Splash Punta Cana (13 to 17) and Hard Rock (a gaming room for 13 to 17) publish something for teens. The Barceló Aruba page we read stops at 12.

What all-inclusive can leave out

The pages above show where the line sits at these resorts:

  • Babysitting is separate. Hard Rock Punta Cana and Grecotel Marine Palace list it at extra cost.
  • Some activities are paid. Club Med Cancún lists scuba diving as extra, Club Med Da Balaia lists the spa and external golf, and Royalton Splash lists a paid Escape Room.

A page that says nothing about a fee does not prove there is none. Ask the resort for a written list of what is not included.

Questions to ask the resort

  • What is the youngest age the kids club takes, and must a parent stay?
  • What are the hours, and when does the club close for cleaning or meals?
  • Which childcare, strollers and cots are included, and which cost extra?
  • Can the room sleep our whole family, and where does the cot go?
  • What is the plan if my child will not settle in the club?

What we left out

We left out room rates, a booking-window recommendation and any resort whose official page did not state that it is all-inclusive or give kids club ages on the pages we read. The 13 resorts are in 11 countries, with none in Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus or Costa Rica. We will add resorts as we confirm them.

Questions

What age can a baby go to an all-inclusive resort kids club?

It depends on the resort. Club Med Cancún and La Caravelle publish Baby Club Med from 4 months, other Club Med resorts list a 0 to 2 band, and Grand Palladium Jamaica lists a Baby Club for 1 to 3. The Royalton Splash and Barceló Aruba clubs start at 4. All were read on 20 October 2026, so confirm with the resort.

Do kids clubs at all-inclusive resorts cost extra?

Club Med, Grand Palladium Jamaica and Grecotel Marine Palace say the kids club is included or free for the stated ages. Babysitting is listed as extra at Hard Rock Punta Cana and Grecotel. Ask the resort for a written list of what is not included.

Do kids stay free at all-inclusive resorts?

Several Club Med pages say under 4s stay free, marked with an asterisk, and the terms were not shown. Grand Palladium Jamaica says children up to 2 stay free and ages 3 to 12 pay 50% of the adult price. Confirm the terms before you book.

Is an all-inclusive resort good for teenagers?

Several publish teen spaces: Club Med for 11 to 17, Grecotel for 13 to 17, Royalton Splash Punta Cana for 13 to 17 and Hard Rock Punta Cana a gaming room for 13 to 17. Read the page for the resort you are considering.

Why does this guide not name a best resort?

Because we could only back up published ages and features. Those say what a resort offers, not how well it does it, and we will not rank on information we cannot source.
