April in Barcelona is a 23 April street and a museum that stays open until 20:00 on Sundays. The Barcelona with kids page already covers TMB visitor fares, Park Güell child tickets and zoo prices. This page is Sant Jordi, the official April temperatures, and the March-to-September Natural Sciences clock.

barcelona.cat, Turisme de Barcelona, Museu de Ciències Naturals, CosmoCaixa and Park Güell were opened on 14 October 2026. Easter 2027 dates were not on those pages, so they are omitted. The zoo page showed only that day's hours, so no April zoo table is invented.

23 April, every year

Cultura Popular is blunt. Sant Jordi is 23 April every year. Books and roses. La Rambla is a main meeting point. Stalls also sit on Passeig de Gràcia and in neighbourhood streets.

That date is the planning fact. The 2026 festival site is now an archive. It will be updated around April 2027. The 2026 pedestrian block, City Hall open day and TVBoy mural times are last year's map. Do not copy them forward. Come on the 23rd, use whatever street plan the city publishes that spring, and expect crowds on La Rambla.

If you are not in the city on the 23rd, April is still the milder month. It is not a second Sant Jordi.

17.8°C, and a jacket

Turisme de Barcelona lists April as 17.8°C high and 10.8°C low. Light jacket, sunglasses, surprise rain in March or April. Annual rain about 700 mm, heavier in spring and autumn. That is playground weather, not a beach day, and not the August heat.

Pack a layer. Do not pack a winter coat as the only jacket.

Museums that run later than winter

Natural Sciences from March to September: Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00. Sundays, holidays and open days 10:00 to 20:00. Last entry 30 minutes before close. Closed Monday except public holidays, and closed 1 May (and 1 January, 24 June, 25 December). Under-16s stay free. First Sunday all day, and every Sunday from 15:00, are free for everyone.

That Sunday 20:00 close is the April indoor fact. The year-round page used the winter table. This page uses the spring one.

CosmoCaixa is 10:00 to 20:00 every day including public holidays. General admission was 8 euros on that page. Christmas-week shorter hours do not apply in April. It is the wet-Tuesday plan.

Park Güell on 14 October 2026 showed public ticket bands 09:30 to 19:30. Resident windows 07:00 to 09:30 and 20:00 to 22:00 stay closed to visitors. Slot plus 30 minutes, no re-entry. A 2027 seasonal table was not on the page. Book a live slot. Prices stay on the year-round guide.

The zoo operator page printed only the day we opened it (10:00 to 18:00 that day). An April row would be a guess. Check zoobarcelona.cat the week you go.

A first April stay that holds: Natural Sciences on a Sunday afternoon when the building is free after 15:00, CosmoCaixa if Monday is wet, Park Güell on a booked slot in the public day, Sant Jordi only if you are there on the 23rd. TMB tickets stay on the year-round page. For a spring city that publishes Tuileries hours by month, read Paris in April.

23 April is a street day, not a museum day

If you are in the city on Sant Jordi, spend it on the streets with a book and a rose. Do not also book Park Güell. The Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia will be slow. TMB still runs. Under-4s still ride free. The T-16 is still a resident card. Those rules sit on the year-round page and do not pause for the festival.

1 May closes the Natural Sciences Museum. If your April stay runs into May Day, use CosmoCaixa (daily 10:00 to 20:00) or a beach walk, not the science hall.

Park Güell child tickets (free 0 to 6 with a ticket, 13.50 euros ages 7 to 12, 18 euros general on the year-round page) do not change because it is April. What may change is the last public slot. The October 2026 page showed 19:30. A later spring evening is possible and was not printed. Book what the live calendar shows.

The zoo remains a picnic day. Without an April hours row, assume you must read zoobarcelona.cat that week. Do not copy a blog's 19:00 close.

Questions

Is Sant Jordi always 23 April?

Yes. Barcelona City Council's popular-culture page treats 23 April as the standing date for books and roses. The 2027 pedestrian map will appear on barcelona.cat/santjordi around April 2027. Do not reuse the 2026 superilla times as next year's plan.

Does the Natural Sciences Museum stay open later in April?

The March to September table is Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 20:00. That is later than the October to February clock on the year-round page. Under-16s stay free.

What should you wear in April?

Turisme de Barcelona lists 17.8°C highs and 10.8°C lows, a light jacket and sunglasses, and possible surprise rain. It is not beach weather and it is not winter.
