Bangkok in February with kids
| Month | Weather | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| January | Coldest month nationally | TAT January article. No Bangkok high or low printed. |
| February | Cool at the start, hot after mid-month | Still not as hot as March and April, on TAT's February article. |
| March | 30 to 40°C, complete hot season | Every region, on TAT's March article. |
| National average band | 18 to 38°C | TAT climate page. Wet season is the six-month rain block, not February. |
TAT splits February in half: cool at the start, hot after the middle, and still not March. The Bangkok with kids page already covers BEM height rules, SEA LIFE tickets and Dream World hours. This note is the season change those official month articles printed, and the 2027 festival dates they did not.
TAT weather, month guides and business-hours pages were opened on 15 October 2026. The climate widget did not print a Bangkok February high or low, so none is invented. Chinese New Year 2027 was not posted.
Cool, then hot, never 30 to 40°C yet
The February article is the planning sentence. The beginning of the month is still the cool season. From mid-February the hot season begins. It is "not as hot as in March and April."
January is the coldest month nationally. March is a complete hot season of around 30 to 40°C in every region. That March band is the contrast, not a February forecast.
The climate page gives a national picture: six months of rain, three months of dry cool winter, three months of summer heat, averages 18 to 38°C. February is not described as wet season on the month articles. Do not pack as if this were the monsoon, and do not pack as if this were 40°C.
TAT's February article says "Start packing" and then does not say what to wear. This page will not invent a clothing list.
No 2027 Yaowarat date
A TAT Thai article still dated Yaowarat lights 7 February to 1 March 2026. Siam Paragon and Hat Yai listings on that page were 2026 as well. Those are last year's lamps. They are not a 2027 plan.
National festivals named on the English February article (balloon meet, Hae Pha Khuen That, Khao Khitchakut) had no 2027 dates. They are omitted.
If you arrive in early February, treat Chinatown as a street, not as a confirmed light festival. If a 2027 TAT page appears later, it will carry a year. Until it does, skip the leftover 2569 dates.
Hours that do not care about the month
Business hours stay 09:00 to 16:00 for museums, closed Monday. BTS and MRT stay 06:00 to 00:00 and may run later on an important day such as New Year. Department stores stay 10:00 to 22:00. None of those lines is a February exception.
SEA LIFE under Siam remains the indoor air-conditioned morning on the year-round page: under-2s free, ages 2 to 11 on the child ticket, under-15s with an adult 18 or over. Dream World's TAT clock (10:00 to 17:00 weekdays, 10:00 to 18:00 weekends and holidays) does not shift for the cool-to-hot change.
BEM height rules do not change either. Under 90 cm is carried through the gate. 91 to 120 cm and not older than 14 still needs the ticket office.
A February day that holds: an early outdoor walk in the first half of the month, SEA LIFE when the heat starts, Dream World only if you accept the weekday 17:00 close. No CNY parade that TAT has not dated. For fares and tickets, stay on Bangkok with kids.
After the 15th the air is a different argument
Mid-February is TAT's hinge. Before it, the January cool is still in the sentence. After it, you are walking toward the 30 to 40°C March band. That is when the aquarium under the mall stops being a backup and starts being the first plan.
Do not add a temple terrace at noon in the second half of the month just because the February article has not yet said 40°C. Do not skip water. TAT did not print a Bangkok humidity number on the pages we used, so none is quoted.
If you only have one paid ticket, buy SEA LIFE for a late-February afternoon. If you only have one outdoor park, put Dream World on a weekend when TAT says it runs to 18:00. Leave Monday for a mall, because the museum standing rule is still a closed Monday.
SEA LIFE still admits no one under 15 without an adult 18 or over. That rule does not loosen because TAT called the first half of February cool. The child online price on the year-round page starts at 799 baht for ages 2 to 11. Under-2s stay free. Buy the ticket before you go down the escalator under Siam.
Dream World's TAT listing still covered 160 rai and four zones. The foreigner child and adult figures on that TAT card were the same number. Use it as a park day, not as a bargain argument. BTS and MRT may run later on New Year's Day. February is not that day unless TAT has named an important event. This page did not find one.
