April in Paris is a garden that stays open until 21:00. The Paris with kids page already covers Cité des enfants prices, RATP child fares and free under-18 national museums. This page is the April thermometer, the Tuileries spring clock, cherry trees, and 1 May closures.

Paris je t'aime, the Louvre, MNHN and Cité des sciences were opened on 14 October 2026. Easter 2027 dates were not extracted from a clean official calendar, so they are omitted. Foire du Trône and marathon dates from 2026 are not rolled forward.

7.9 to 16.6°C, and a longer evening

The climate page gives April as 7.9°C to 16.6°C and 45.8 mm of rain. It also calls April to June, and September to October, the ideal window, with pleasant temperatures of about 15 to 22°C. That is a jacket in the morning and a playground after supper, not a December coat.

Compared with the December page, you gain light. You do not gain a free pass to stack three interiors.

Tuileries until 21:00

The Louvre hours page puts the Tuileries at 07:00 to 21:00 in April, May, September and October. Free. Leave 30 minutes before closing. December was 07:30 to 19:30. April is the evening garden.

Use it after a short Louvre slot, not instead of booking Cité des enfants. Under-18s are still free at the Louvre with ID. The palace is closed on 1 May, and on Tuesdays. If 1 May is a Friday, you do not have a Louvre Friday.

Cherry trees, not a festival ticket

The spring page lists blossom at Jardin des Plantes (including a Shirotae cherry), Parc de Sceaux (144 Japanese cherries) and Parc Clichy-Batignolles. Bloom is generally March to the end of April and depends on the weather. There is no ticket. There is no guaranteed week.

Jardin des Plantes itself is free every day, last entry 15 minutes before close. Hours change by season. The live page's next printed block was 25 October 2026 to 28 February 2027 at 08:00 to 17:30. April 2027 hours were not posted. Read the MNHN clock the week you go. Luxembourg Garden, on the same spring page, is named as a picnic garden with lawns, green chairs and the central pond. No April 2027 event dates sat on that paragraph.

Five Cité sessions, except 1 May

Cité des sciences adds a fifth daily session in both Cité des enfants rooms during school holidays and public holidays. The session is still 90 minutes. The year-round page tells you the prices and the age bands. This page tells you to book the extra session if the holidays fall in April, and to skip 1 May, when the building is closed (also Mondays, 1 January, 25 December).

A first April stay that holds: Cité des enfants if you have a 2-to-10-year-old, Tuileries until the 21:00 gate, blossom at Jardin des Plantes or Sceaux if the trees have opened, nothing ticketed on 1 May. RATP fares do not change. For the winter market and 19:30 garden, use Paris in December. For the booking rules, stay on Paris with kids.

Sceaux is a half day, not a stop on the way

Parc de Sceaux sits outside the centre. 144 Japanese cherries are the reason to go, and only if they have opened. RER time is real. Do not add Cité des enfants on the same morning. Jardin des Plantes is the in-town blossom walk. Clichy-Batignolles is the north-west park if you are already in that arrondissement.

RATP child fares do not change in April. Under 4s still ride free without a seat. Ages 4 to under 10 still pay half. The 2.55-euro adult Ticket Métro-Train-RER and 1.30-euro reduced single stay on the year-round page. What changes is that you will walk more, because 21:00 Tuileries light makes an evening playground possible after a 16:00 museum exit.

1 May closes the Louvre and Cité des sciences. If your rental includes that Friday or Thursday, book neither. Use Tuileries from 07:00 and a bakery. National museums stay free for under-18s on the days they are open. Proof of age still helps. Petit Palais permanent rooms stay free on ordinary days and make a quieter indoor hour than the Louvre when you only need a courtyard and a sit-down.
