Singapore in February with kids

VisitSingapore has posted Chinese New Year for 6 and 7 February 2027. The air on the same site stays 25 to 33°C. The Singapore with kids page already covers LTA height rules, Zoo child tickets and National Gallery free entry for ages 6 and under. This note is the 2027 festival date, the year-round thermometer, and the Gardens closures printed for that month.

VisitSingapore, Gardens by the Bay and Mandai were opened on 15 October 2026. Chingay and River Hongbao 2027 dates were not on the CNY page. They are omitted.

6 and 7 February, still 25 to 33°C

The CNY page heads Chinese New Year, then prints 6 to 7 February 2027, Chinatown. Street Light Up, Chingay, River Hongbao, weekly shows and a festive fair are named with a pointer to chinatownfestivals.sg. This page uses the STB dates only.

Essential information, updated 9 October 2026, keeps 25 to 33°C all year and tells you to dress light and carry an umbrella. The destination guide adds humidity, abundant rain and brief torrential storms, highs over 30°C.

February is not a cool season on those pages. Pack the same airy clothes you would pack in August. Add the umbrella. Do not pack a coat because it is the lunar new year.

Gardens that close on three February days

Opening hours and closures print three 2027 February shutdowns: OCBC Skyway on 3 February, Supertree Observatory on 16 February, Cloud Forest on 23 February. Flower Dome and Cloud Forest otherwise stay 09:00 to 21:00 (last admission 20:30 and 20:00). Outdoor gardens stay 05:00 to 02:00.

Children's Garden is Thursday to Sunday and public holidays, 09:00 to 19:00, last admission 18:00, waterplay 18:30. School holidays listed: March, June, September, December. February is not on that list. A Tuesday in February is not a waterplay day unless it is a public holiday.

Singapore Zoo stays 08:30 to 18:00, last entry 17:00. Ages 3 to 12 on the child ticket. Under-3s free with an adult over 21 who holds a ticket. No February exception.

LTA's 0.9 m free-travel rule does not change. National Gallery stays 10:00 to 19:00, free for ages 6 and under.

A February day that holds: Chinatown on 6 or 7 February if the crowd is acceptable, the Zoo on a morning that is not a conservatory-closure day you cared about, Children's Garden only on a Thursday to Sunday. For fares, stay on Singapore with kids.

What CNY is not

6 and 7 February 2027 are two dated festival days, not a cooler fortnight and not a Chingay timetable. If you want River Hongbao, wait until STB or the operator prints 2027.

If you have one paid outdoor ticket, buy the Zoo before 17:00. If you have one conservatory, skip 23 February for Cloud Forest. If you have a child who wants waterplay, do not arrive on a February Monday.

Buses from as early as 05:30 to about 00:30 stay on the essential-information page. They do not become a February special. The heat does not drop because the calendar says lunar new year. Official copy still wants light clothes and an umbrella.

LTA still lets children travel free on basic bus and train services if they are below 0.9 m and with a fare-paying commuter, or if they hold a Child concession card. The SimplyGo Child Concession Card is for residents: 0.9 m and above, below seven, not in primary school, valid until 30 April of the year the child turns seven. Visiting families do not get that card. Free travel still excludes Express, Premium and City Direct.

National Gallery stays daily 10:00 to 19:00, last admission 18:30, free for ages 6 and under, 5 dollars off for ages 7 to 12 on the 20-dollar standard. Children must be with an adult. Keppel Centre for Art Education stays a free non-ticketed room. That is the indoor CNY afternoon if Chinatown is too tight.

Gardens by the Bay non-resident conservatory prices on the year-round page were 46 dollars adult and 32 dollars child 3 to 12. Skip Cloud Forest on 23 February 2027. Skip Skyway on the 3rd. Skip the Observatory on the 16th. The outdoor gardens still open at 05:00.

Flower Dome last admission stays 20:30 when the house is open. That evening slot is the CNY overflow plan if Chinatown at 19:00 is a wall of people.
