Family prices from Oceanário, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, CARRIS and Metro Lisboa, checked 13 October 2026.

TicketPriceNotes
Oceanário, child 3 to 12, 16:00 to 18:30 slot15.50 eurosEarlier slots were 17.70 then 16.60. Ages 0 to 2 free. Under 12s need an adult. Last entry 19:00.
Oceanário Flexiticket, adult41 eurosValid 7 days. A visit is one and a half to two hours. Parque das Nações / Oriente.
Padrão dos Descobrimentos, combined10 euros; under 12 exemptExhibition only 5 euros. Youth 13 to 25: 5 euros combined or 2.50 euros exhibition.
CARRIS, children to age 3 inclusiveFree, no ticketMust be with an adult. From age 4 everyone needs a ticket. One open pushchair per vehicle.
Metro Lisboa, visiting child aged 4 to 12Occasional ticketUnder 4s are free. The free 4 to 12 rule is for a personalised navegante Child card on AML, not for a visitor.

Buy the later Oceanário slot if the day can wait. A child aged 3 to 12 was listed at 17.70 euros from 10:00 to 11:30, 16.60 from 12:00 to 15:30 and 15.50 from 16:00 to 18:30, and the visit itself is one and a half to two hours. The cheaper afternoon still leaves time for Belém.

Each fare and slot comes from an operator page checked on 13 October 2026. A figure that was missing is omitted.

Parque das Nações and the slot that drops

Oceanário de Lisboa opens daily 10:00 to 20:00, last entry 19:00. Ages 0 to 2 enter free. The three priced bands are ages 3 to 12, 13 to 64 and 65+. In the morning slot those tickets were 17.70, 29.90 and 19.90 euros. From 12:00 to 15:30 they were 16.60, 27.70 and 18.80. From 16:00 to 18:30 they were 15.50, 25.50 and 17.70. Anyone under 12 must come with an adult.

A Flexiticket was listed at 41 euros for an adult and stays valid for 7 days. Use it if you might miss the first slot, not as a second aquarium. The building sits at Parque das Nações, on the Oriente side of the city, not in Belém.

One and a half to two hours is the published visit. That is the whole plan for that neighbourhood: the tanks, a sit-down, and the metro back. Do not add a second paid hall in Parque das Nações on the same ticket.

Who rides free, and who still buys a ticket

CARRIS lets children to age 3 inclusive travel free without a ticket, if they are with an adult. From age 4, everyone needs a ticket, including the four-year-old on a tram. One open pushchair is allowed per vehicle. If a second open pushchair is already on board, you fold or you wait.

Metro Lisboa is a different rule. Under 4s travel free. Ages 4 to 12 travel free on the AML network only with a personalised navegante Child card. A visiting child in that band needs an occasional ticket. Do not board a visiting four-to-twelve-year-old on the assumption that children ride free. That sentence is for residents with the right card.

Metro trains run 06:30 to 01:00. Wide gates are there for strollers. Use those gates rather than the narrow ones with a loaded pushchair.

Tram 28 is on the Lisboa Card list. It is also a crowded wooden car. One open pushchair per vehicle is the CARRIS rule that matters more than the view.

Belém without a 12-year-old ticket

Padrão dos Descobrimentos exempts visitors under 12. The combined ticket was 10 euros. The exhibition alone was 5 euros. Youth aged 13 to 25 pay 5 euros combined or 2.50 euros for the exhibition. October to February it opens 10:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:30. March to September it opens 10:00 to 19:00, last entry 18:30. It is closed on 1 January, 1 May, 24, 25 and 31 December.

That is the Belém stop that does not need a child's ticket if everyone is under 12. It is not a playground. Walk the waterfront after, or leave.

Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery are a different booking. They are not priced on this page because the card FAQ, not those ticket desks, is the source in this shortlist.

The physical card, and the slot you book after you hold it

The Lisboa Card is physical only. There is no digital stand-in at the gate. It covers trams 28 and 15, buses, metro and trains to Sintra, Cascais and Setúbal. It does not cover boats.

Belém Tower and Jerónimos need a same-day time slot booked after you already have the physical card. Buy the card first, then book the slot, then go. A screenshot of a confirmation email is not the card.

If you will ride tram 15 to Belém, sit on the metro to Oriente, and take a train to Cascais, the card can pay for itself. If you will walk the centre and enter only the Oceanário, buy the aquarium slot and a metro ticket instead.

One river, two neighbourhoods

A first visit that stays sane:

  • Oriente for the 16:00 to 18:30 Oceanário slot if you want the 15.50 child price, or an earlier slot if a nap commands the afternoon.
  • Another day for Belém: Padrão for anyone under 12 at no ticket, then a same-day Tower or Jerónimos slot only if you already hold the physical Lisboa Card.

Closed days at Padrão: 1 January, 1 May, 24, 25 and 31 December. Last metro a little after midnight is not a reason to keep a tired child out until 01:00.

Lisbon with children is a time slot, a tram rule and a physical card. It is not three famous interiors and a boat you thought the card included.

Questions

Do visiting children ride the Lisbon metro free?

Under 4s travel free. Ages 4 to 12 are free on AML only with a personalised navegante Child card. Visiting children in that band need an occasional ticket. Metro trains run 06:30 to 01:00. Wide gates are there for strollers.

Which Oceanário slot is cheaper for a child?

On the page we opened, a child aged 3 to 12 was 17.70 euros from 10:00 to 11:30, 16.60 from 12:00 to 15:30 and 15.50 from 16:00 to 18:30. Ages 0 to 2 are free. Last entry is 19:00. Under 12s need an adult.

Can you use a digital Lisboa Card at Belém Tower?

No. The card is physical only. It covers trams 28 and 15, buses, metro and trains to Sintra, Cascais and Setúbal, not boats. Belém Tower and Jerónimos need a same-day slot booked after you hold the physical card.
