The Christkindlesmarkt homepage prints 27 November to 24 December 2026, 10:00 to 21:00, and 10:00 to 14:00 on Christmas Eve. The Nuremberg with kids page already covers the Nürnberg Card, KiBaLa and Playmobil FunPark. This note is the 2026 market clock, the children's market that runs past Christmas, and the museum days that are actually shut.
Christkindlesmarkt.de, Tourismus Nürnberg, Kindermuseum, DB Museum and the zoo were opened on 15 October 2026. No official monthly climate table sat on those pages, so none is invented.
Hauptmarkt until 14:00 on the 24th
The official market is 27 November to 24 December 2026. Opening day 10:00 to 22:00, prologue 17:30. Then Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 21:00. Christmas Eve 10:00 to 14:00. Tourismus Nürnberg repeats those dates and adds that Partner Cities and Original Regional stalls stop on 23 December.
Go in daylight. A pushchair after 19:00 on a Saturday is a crowd. Eat before 14:00 on the 24th, because the stalls close.
Future years already sit on the homepage (2027: 26 November to 24 December; 2028: 1 to 24 December). Those are planning lines, not this December's clock.
Kinderweihnacht keeps going
The children's market runs 27 November to 30 December 2026. Same 10:00 to 21:00 clock as the main square, 10:00 to 14:00 on the 24th, closed 25 December, then 26 to 30 December 11:00 to 20:00. From 1 December the Christkind visits Tuesday to Friday at 14:30.
That is the stall field after the Hauptmarkt has packed up. 31 December and 1 January are not on that list.
Two museums shut. The zoo does not.
Kindermuseum is in season (the pause is July to September) and closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Saturday 14:00 to 17:30. Sunday and holidays 10:30 to 16:30. School holidays 14:00 to 17:30. From age 3, one adult per four children.
DB Museum in 2026 is Wednesday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, weekend and holidays 10:00 to 18:00, Monday and Tuesday closed. Closed 1 January, 24 and 25 December, 31 December. Open 26 December. Under-14s need an adult. The outdoor grounds listing ended 8 November 2026, so do not plan the outdoor tracks in December unless a new notice appears.
Tiergarten is 365 days, including Christmas. From 25 October 2026 to 28 February 2027: 09:00 to 16:30, last admission 16:00. A 2025 press note about a 15:00 Christmas Eve close was not repeated on the 2026 hours page. It is omitted.
The Nürnberg Card still covers about 30 sights and VGN zone A for 48 hours. Ages 6 to 11 stay on the Kids Card. That does not change because the square is full.
A December day that holds: Hauptmarkt before dark, Kinderweihnacht if you want a carousel after the 24th, DB Museum on 26 December, the zoo on the 25th. For year-round prices, stay on Nuremberg with kids.
What 25 December is for
25 December is a zoo morning until 16:00, not a stall and not a museum. Kindermuseum and DB Museum are shut. The Hauptmarkt has already ended. Kinderweihnacht is shut that one day and reopens on the 26th at 11:00.
If you have one indoor ticket in the week before Christmas, buy DB Museum on a Wednesday to Sunday. If you have one child who wants the Christkind, stand at Kinderweihnacht at 14:30 on a weekday from 1 December. If you have only the 25th, go to the zoo and skip the square.
No official tourism page printed a December high or a packing list. Bring a coat because you will stand still at a stall, not because a table said 0°C.
KiBaLa at the DB Museum remains about 1,000 square metres of play, with a miniature train for children over 3 and the Grandpa Adler trail for ages 3 to 7. That room is why you buy the family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children, 20 euros on the year-round page) on a day the house is open. It is not a 25 December plan.
Playmobil FunPark sits outside the old town. The Nürnberg Card's VGN zone A cover (Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein) is the 48-hour argument for that hop, not a December timetable. Check the park's own calendar before you spend the card day on it.
The free Kids Card for ages 0 to 5 is still only valid with an adult card. The 6-to-11 card can be bought alone. The tourist office still does not grant student discounts on the card. Those FAQ lines do not change because the square smells of Lebkuchen.

Is there an official December temperature for Nuremberg?
