One day trips from Delhi with kids
For a day trip from Delhi with kids, Agra is the one with a stated child entry rule, since the Taj Mahal website says there is no entry fee for children below 15 years. This guide gives the distances, hours and child rules that official pages state for five places, and says which popular places and details we could not confirm.
Sourced 25 October 2026. We read each official page linked below on 25 October 2026. Distances are as the pages give them, from the starting point each page names, and we give no travel time or toll of our own. Hours and fees change, so confirm before you go.
Choosing by month or distance across several cities? Use the weekend getaway finder. This guide goes into the day-trip detail for Delhi. Driving? The road trip fuel cost calculator works out the fuel from your own mileage and tolls.

How to choose a day trip with kids
- Check what the distance is measured from. The pages measure from Delhi, from Gurgaon or from the starting point they name, and some give two different figures.
- The child ticket. Only the Taj Mahal website states a child entry rule, and it is free entry for children below 15 years.
- Season. The Sultanpur pages name winter months for the birds, so a visit in other months may show fewer.
- Rules at the gate. The Taj Mahal website says eatables are not allowed inside and drones are prohibited.

| Agra, for the Taj Mahal | The Incredible India page says Agra is at least 222 km and at most 243 km from Delhi, depending on the route (road distance, approximate), and a maximum of 4 and a half hours. It names the Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra Fort as the three UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Taj Mahal website says it is open except on Fridays, with visiting hours from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset. There is no entry fee for children below 15 years, domestic or foreign. The domestic ticket is Rs 50 plus an optional Rs 200 for the main mausoleum, and the page gives an online discount of Rs 5 per Indian ticket. It says tickets are sold through the Archaeological Survey of India website and at the window, that eatables are not allowed inside, and that drone cameras are strictly prohibited | Incredible India, places near Delhi, Taj Mahal, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, sourced 25 October 2026 |
| Sultanpur National Park | A Haryana Forest Department page says the park is on the Gurgaon to Farrukh Nagar road, around 50 km from Delhi and 15 km from Gurgaon, and says to take the Metro from New Delhi to Huda City Centre Gurgaon and arrange local transport from there. The visitor page lists trails and watchtowers, electric carts, and an interpretation centre. One page gives December to February as the best season and the other gives November to February, with migratory birds arriving from September and staying until March or April. The pages give no hours, closing day or fee | Haryana Forest, Sultanpur, Haryana Forest wildlife page, sourced 25 October 2026 |
| Bharatpur, Keoladeo National Park | The Rajasthan Tourism page says Delhi is 184 km from Bharatpur and that the railway station is about 5 km from the park. The Incredible India page gives 208 km from Delhi, so we show both. Rajasthan Tourism says the park has well-defined treks that can be covered on foot, by cycle or by rickshaw, and that the rickshaw pullers are trained in bird watching. The pages give no hours and no fee | Rajasthan Tourism, Keoladeo, Incredible India, places near Delhi, sourced 25 October 2026 |
| Mathura and Vrindavan | The Incredible India page says Mathura is within 164 km of Delhi and Vrindavan is around 158 km. It names the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple Complex and Govardhan Hill at Mathura, and the Banke Bihari Temple and the ISKCON Temple at Vrindavan. The page gives no hours, no entry rules and no child rule | Incredible India, places near Delhi, sourced 25 October 2026 |
| Neemrana | The Incredible India page says Neemrana can be reached within 120 km of Delhi and names the Neemrana Fort Palace. The page gives no hours, no entry rules and no child rule, and we state no private hotel or day visit prices | Incredible India, places near Delhi, sourced 25 October 2026 |
Timing the day from what the pages say
- Agra. The Taj Mahal is shut on Fridays, so pick another day. The page's visiting hours follow sunrise and sunset, so the window changes through the year.
- Sultanpur. The closest of the five. The best months on the pages are November or December to February, and the birds arrive from September.
- Bharatpur. The two pages give 184 km and 208 km, so we do not guess a travel time.
Notes on the table
The Incredible India page gives Agra as a range of 222 km to 243 km depending on the route, and gives Bharatpur as 208 km where the Rajasthan Tourism page says 184 km. The two Haryana Forest pages differ on the best season for Sultanpur. We show every figure rather than choosing one. The Taj Mahal website says it is run by the Uttar Pradesh Department of Tourism for information, and that tickets are the Archaeological Survey of India's business, so confirm fees on the ticket site.

Places we could not confirm
We could not confirm these on an official page on 25 October 2026, so we say nothing about them: Fatehpur Sikri entry fees and hours, Sultanpur hours, closing day and fees, the Keoladeo hours and fees, Mathura and Vrindavan temple timings and entry rules, Kurukshetra, whose distance the Incredible India page does not give, and anything on the Haryana Tourism and Uttar Pradesh Tourism sites, which did not load for us. We give no toll amounts and no train timings, and apart from the Incredible India figure for Agra, we found no official page that gave a drive time from Delhi for these places.
