Vietnam trip cost from India for a family

The Vietnam trip cost for a family is the sum of nine lines you can price yourself, and we could not confirm the e-visa fee or a child rule on an official page, so we state neither. This guide gives what the Vietnam Immigration Department pages do say, a budget sheet with a formula for every line and a blank cell for your own number, and a plain list of what we could not confirm.

Sourced 26 October 2026. We read each official page linked below on 26 October 2026. We give no conversions to Indian rupees, because we have no dated official exchange rate to cite. Fees and rules change, so confirm on the official portal before you apply.

Checking entry rules for other countries as well? Use the visa-free finder for Indian passport holders, which lists Vietnam with its official link. To add up the whole trip, use the family trip budget calculator. Comparing costs? See the Thailand trip guide and the Dubai trip cost guide.

What the Vietnam Immigration Department says about the e-visa

The Vietnam Immigration Department's e-visa page says an electronic visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry. It says foreigners outside Vietnam can apply personally or through requesting agencies and organisations.

  • Payment. The page says the e-visa fee is paid through an electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department, and that the fee will not be refunded if the application is refused.
  • Conditions. The applicant holds a valid passport and does not fall into the cases of suspension from entry set out in Article 21 of the Law on foreigners' entry into, exit from, transit through and residence in Vietnam.
  • Ports. The page links a list of the ports where foreigners may enter and leave by e-visa. Check that your arrival and departure ports are on it.
  • Address. A notice on the department's pages says the e-visa portal operates on the two domains evisa.gov.vn and thithucdientu.gov.vn, from 11 November 2024.

The fee and the child rule: what we could not confirm

The department's e-visa page gives no fee amount, and the new portal at evisa.gov.vn showed us no fee text on 26 October 2026, because it builds its pages with scripts. We therefore state no fee for a single or multiple entry visa, and no fee or rule for children. Read the fee on the application screen of the official portal, and read it again on the day you pay, because fees change.

Getting to Vietnam: what an airline page lists

The Akasa Air home page lists Mumbai to Hanoi and Hanoi to Mumbai among its routes. The page shows no schedule and no fare, so we give none. We could not load the Air India or IndiGo pages on 26 October 2026, so for every other city check the airline sites for current routes.

Vietnam trip cost from India: the budget sheet

Fill in your own figure on each line, then add the lines. We give no totals and no ranges, because we found no official page with flight, hotel or food prices.

LineFormulaYour figure
FlightsFlight price per person x number of travellers, from the airline's own booking page on the day______
e-visaThe fee shown on the official portal, x the number of travellers who need a visa. Check the child rule on the portal______
StayPrice per night x number of nights______
FoodFood per day x number of days______
Local transportYour own estimate for the whole stay, including airport transfers______
ActivitiesAdult ticket x adults, plus child ticket x children, for each attraction you pick, from the attraction's own site______
Travel insurancePolicy price per person x number of travellers______
Forex chargesCard or exchange charges, as your bank or exchange states them______
TotalAdd every line above______

Keep every line in the same currency. If the portal shows the visa fee in one currency and your hotel in another, convert with the rate your bank or card gives you on the day, and note the date. The family trip budget calculator does the adding for you.

How to price each line

  • Flights. Price them on the airline's own page for your dates. We state no fare.
  • Stay. Price it on the booking page of the property you pick, per night, and check what the room rate includes for children.
  • Activities. We found no attraction price on an official page we could read, so we state none. Take each price and the child rate from the attraction's own site.
  • Insurance and forex. Both come from your own provider.

Places we could not confirm

We could not confirm these on an official page on 26 October 2026, so we say nothing about them: the e-visa fee for single or multiple entry, any change to that fee in 2026, the processing time, the child rule, flight routes from Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and other Indian cities, flight fares, entry prices for attractions, and any rupee conversion of the fee. For entry rules in other countries, see Family trips abroad from India.

What we left out

We left out totals and ranges, rupee conversions, a hotel or flight recommendation, and any fee, fare or price that an official page we read does not state.
